Welcome From The Chair

“It is with great privilege as the Chair of Trustees of our newly formed Multi Academy Trust that I welcome you to the governance section of Providence Learning Partnership’s website. This is the beginning of an exciting journey for all of us, as we bring together our collective expertise, passion and commitment to drive meaningful change in the lives of our students, staff and communities.

Our mission is clear: Transforming lives through education.

As a board of Trustees we are committed to providing strategic leadership of the trust through defining the Trust’s vision for high quality and inclusive education; accountability and assurances through ensuring robust and effective oversight of the Trusts operations and performance, including financial performance; and the engagement of stakeholders through strategic oversight of our relationships with our stakeholders, including parents, students, other schools and our community.

The role of Chair of Trustees fills me with enormous pride and responsibility. Although recently retired, I was fortunate enough to have many insights into education through my professional life as Professor of History and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) at Durham University. Here I was responsible for delivering the University’s education strategy. Before coming to Durham, I was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at the University of California, San Diego.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the teachers, staff, parents and partners who have shown unwavering dedication during this transition. Your support is invaluable and together, we will build a Trust that is strong, sustainable and successful for years to come.”
