Local Governing Board

The Local Governing Board is a sub-committee of the Trust Board. The Terms of Reference for the Local Governing Board are outlined in the Scheme of Delegation and are reviewed annually.

The Local Governing Board provide support and challenge to the strategic leadership of the Academy, playing a vital role in making sure that every student gets the best education in their time at the Academy. Meeting every half term, Governors oversee and scrutinise areas such as student outcomes and development and they drive forward the Academy Improvement Plan. Community engagement is also part of the Local Governing Board remit as it is responsible for overseeing local community and employer links.

Governors and Trustees work collaboratively, with the Board of Trustees making informed decisions following consultation with the Local Governing Board, where appropriate. This ensures accountability, transparency and the ongoing development of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
